1. Cause and effect signal words/phrases
- print the cause and affect signal words/phrases chart
- go to http://www.grammar-quizzes.com/8-7.html and do 'Practise 1'
- as you do the questions, put each word/phrase into the chart and fill in the rest of the information
- hand in the completed chart to your teacher at the end of the lesson
- go to 6 minute english and listen to the 'sleeping for learning' program
- take notes as you listen - listen 3 or 4 times - but don't look at the transcript
- write a paragraph summarising your notes - but don't look at the transcript
- hand in the paragraph to your teacher
- now open the transcript and look for the cause and effect language - add any new words to your chart
